Update from Lynne Riley for Georgia

Atlanta Region Transportation Roundtable Survey:

Dear Friends,

I urge you to take the opportunity to share your opinions on the transportation projects that are most important to you in advance of the selection process being undertaken by the Atlanta Region Transportation Roundtable. It is vital that you identify the projects of greatest importance to you in the 10 county Metro Atlanta Region. Please review the memo below and take the brief survey before May 20, 2011.

Please forward this e-mail to your friends and neighbors in Metro Atlanta. Extensive citizen input will drive the selection process according to the will of the residents. Your elected leaders need to hear from you in order to represent your desires for transportation improvements that are funded with your tax dollars.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

May 5, 2011

Good afternoon. ARC is serving as staff to the Atlanta Region Transportation Roundtable. As such, we are endeavoring to find diverse avenues to gauge public opinion on the transportation projects most important to the Region’s citizens. One current avenue is a survey included in the link below.

We are reaching out to all of the Georgia legislators representing the Atlanta region to enlist your help by sending this link out to your networks. We will have the survey open until May 20th giving us some time to analyze the results before the May 25th Executive Committee meeting.

The web address for the Transportation Investment Act Regional Roundtable Survey is
www.atlantatrafficsurvey.com. This link also includes the Roundtable’s webpage address.

In the summer of 2012, residents will have the opportunity to vote on a penny sales tax to fund a set of priority transportation projects for metro Atlanta. The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 charged local leaders to work with residents to create a list of transportation priorities that could be funded through this referendum.

Your input is critical to help guide local leaders on the Atlanta Regional Roundtable in developing the best list of projects possible. Please take a moment to answer this five-minute survey and share your thoughts on the region’s transportation future.

We are very appreciative of any help you can provide in getting people to this survey to register their opinions. Many thanks!
